I started my first class yesterday and discovered that one of my assignments was to create an early childhood blog. I asked if I could use my current blog and my professor said yes. The assignment entries will be different than my regular entries. They’ll be more personal and they have requirements. For my current followers, I’ll continue to post things like I have been posting right along, but I’ll also have to add specific entries for my assignments. To warn you, there will be a few of them in a row next week, but I’ll be able to space the others out more. They will all be labeled with an assignments tag so if you don’t want to read them, you can skip them and they’ll be in their own category. I’ll be posting a new sensory tub later today or tomorrow.
I started the Play2Grow blog to network with other childcare providers. I’m currently working on my masters in early childhood studies with a concentration in administration and management. I’m a preschool teacher working with children from ages two and a half to five. I've been a volunteer in the infant and toddler rooms which was a great experience. I’ve had several part-time jobs at other childcare centers and have completed an internship in 2009. I have a bachelors degree in mental health and human services and certifications in child development and infant/toddler orientation. I enjoy working with children and planning creative activities for them. I believe that play is the best way for them to learn.
On a personal note, I have two spoiled cats. I spend a lot of time on the computer either writing entries for the blog, finding articles for my animal related Pawlog twitter feed or reading random things that I find. I enjoy the outdoors as well. If you have any comments or questions, E-mail me at email@example.com.
